If anyone had ever asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I don't think I would have even thought about being an artist!
Hello! My name is Darla. I am a freelance artist living in Southern Lower MI. I am God blessed, self taught, and have been helped by some wonderful people in learning certain aspects of creating digital artwork. Most of my artwork is done completely by hand, using colored pencil. I am a crafter, and have tried a little bit of everything from needle point, to sewing a couple of quilts, plastic canvas, working with wood, and I enjoy decorative painting. I have been creating for clipartcrafter and stitchartcafe for a little over a year, and have enjoyed every minute of it! April has been a gem to create for!
On a more personal side..For almost 6 years, I had been working in a nursing home, as a housekeeping aide. I recently just started my second week in a new position as housekeeping/laundry supervisor :-)
I have two grown children. My son just graduated from High School and will be going off to the Army at the end of Aug. I also have a 20 yr. old daughter who is getting married this Saturday :-) Really looking forward to the day of being grandma!
Thank you to everyone who is reading and posting in the forums here. Whether you are a crafter or not, all of the artwork here can be used for so many differant purposes! God bless!

I wanted to be a PIT-lot. I had a little problem with spelling and pronunciation Smiley I thought flying around and seeing the world would be great. I have no idea why I did not want to be an airhostess- go figure. After that I remember I wanted to be like Barbra's Taylor's heroine in Woman of Substance. But I think that phase if over. My background is in science and business, and art was a means of relaxing and escaping. I am basically a self taught artist and am pleased to have been with Clipart Crafters and it sister site, Stitchartcafe, since their internet début in 2006.
The art I produce here is mainly digital art which allows me to save the work in various formats which I hope allows you to use it with some ease. I enjoy making these pieces and I hope that you too will get enjoyment out of them as you create.
All the best

I have 3 children- 6, 10 and 13. They're all a handful, but I love being a mother. We all enjoy doing crafts, and of course, kids now days love the computer and know more about it than parents do.

I am happily married to a wonderful man.

I'm learning new things using photoshop, and don't really like to classify myself in the "artists" category on our site. We have some very talented people, and I'm only beginning to learn new things.
